At
a fundamental level, any business or organization is concerned with delivering
value to its customers. Logistics is the process of strategically managing the
procurement, movement and storage of materials, parts and finished inventory
(and the related information flows) through the organization and its marketing
channels in such a way that current and future profitability are maximized
through the cost-effective fulfillment of orders. This course covers the
fundamentals of enterprise logistics management by introducing a set of
managerial and analytical principals that students can use to understand the logistics
functions and strategies of an enterprise.
