Advanced Mathematics-I
Course Aims
The aim of the course is to provide an introduction to the Differential Calculus, studying the methods and some of the applications of the subject. The course starts from the beginning of the subject, but it is advantageous to be familiar with the material on Calculus contained in the Scottish Highers syllabus or equivalent.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the course the student should:
- be familiar with the basic mathematical languages, such as sets and functions, the basic logic underpinning mathematical reasoning, and methods of proof.
- be familiar with the concepts of limits. Understand their usage for defining continuity.
- be familiar with the concept of the derivative of a function and its geometrical significance. Know the basic rules of differentiation and be able to apply them to find first and higher derivatives of functions.
- know the elementary properties of the trigonometric functions, the inverse trigonometric functions, the exponential and logarithmic functions. Be able to differentiate expressions involving these functions.
- be able to find the equation of a tangent to a curve given explicitly or implicitly. Know the significance of the first and second derivatives for the shapes of graphs.
- know about critical points of differentiable functions and their use in determining maxima and minima. Be able to apply these ideas to simple problems in optimization and curve sketching.

《英语写作》是英语专业本科学习阶段一门重要的实践课程,着重培养学生的英语写作技能。写作教学的层面下至英语书面语对文体、词汇和句法结构的要求,上及对英语篇章的认识,整个过程也离不开文化的介入。在基础阶段,英语写作应该从句子到段落,再到篇章,整个教学的过程应该具有连贯性和渐进性。因而,基于自建语料库和问卷结果,《英语写作1》以“错误为纲”,运用汉英对比的写作教学模式,主要教授英语句子写作的以下三个方面的内容。通过本课程的教学,预期学生能基本了解汉英句子结构的异同,了解英语句子的特点和写作技巧,避免常见的结构错误,将结构单一,层次混乱的句子,通过不同的手段,改写成层次分明,结构灵活多样的符合英语思维模式的句子。

(2) 英语句子结构的多样性和简洁性;
(3) 英语句子结构常见错误。

I. Introduction
This course is an introductory course in economics where we study the decision making of individual actors (consumers, employees, firms, governments, etc.) in an economy. Actors must make decisions about behaviours because they face scarce resources, but often they find that trading with other actors in markets can increase the wellbeing of all parties. This course models and examines the nature of these interactions, highlighting when they work well and when they fail to increase wellbeing and what might be the solution to these failures. We hope that the guide gives you an idea of what you can expect from this course, and also what we expect from you as a participant on the course.

“信号与系统”属专业必修课程。本课程的教学目的是让学生了解和掌握信号和线性系统的分析的基本理论、基本原理和方法,并能够在后续课程(如通信原理、信息光学、数字图像处理等)的学习和工作中灵活应用。
本课程的核心教学内容包括:1、信号及其表示、性质,连续与离散信号,信号的时域和频域描述;2、系统及其分类、特征;3、线性非时变(LTI)系统,LTI系统在时域中的描述:冲激响应、LTI 系统微分/差分方程、方框图和状态变量的描述,不同性质LTI 系统冲激响应的特点;4、LTI 系统的频域描述,系统的频率响应,频率响应与冲激响应之间的关系,连续周期信号、离散周期信号、连续非周期信号,离散非周期信号的傅里叶描述,傅里叶分析的性质与实例;混合类型信号的傅里叶描述,抽样、滤波等。
本课程是一门理论性和实验性都很强的技术基础课程,要求学生在学习中随时复习和查阅先修课程的内容,要求同时应用连续和离散时间的观点对课程内容进行联系的和对比的学习,能从时域、频域两个角度分析信号与系统的基本问题。结合课堂MATLAB 应用案例有助于加深对课程内容的理解。
